Helmeted head of Athena, bowl decorated with griffin; ΑΘΗ behind neck; Φ below chin / Lion prowling to right; ear of wheat above between Φ and I; YEΛHTΩN in exergue. Beautifully toned (the helmet of Athena shimmers blue), meriting a rare star designation by NGC for exceptional eye appeal. Pedigreed to the Peus auction of October 1997 (lot 29) and to the Peus auction of October 2003 (lot 111), both stated on label.
